The Type by Sarah Kay in 1988 is a poem about women and how they are supposed to be all different types of women for men. I illustrated the eyeball peering at the woman in the corner to show how society is always watching and judging us women, and how they are always expecting us to be their perfect “Type.” I researched The Type poem and listened to others’ interpretations of the poem. I then sketched out 25 thumbnails for the poem and decided on the best one. Once I illustrated that in Procreate, I added the poem and used hierarchy and typography to best represent the poem. My roles in this project were research and illustrator.
